We had a guest artist come in today to talk to us and give us feedback on our current GRAMMY Camp projects. Caleb Shomo from hardcore metal band Beartooth, listened to our songs and walked us through his writing and recording process. Like so many of the people at GRAMMY Camp, he is a singer and multi-instrumentalist. He was very cool and probably not what I imagined from a hardcore musician. Always fun to see stereotypes shattered.
GRAMMY Camp went on a field trip today to Billboard Magazine. We got a tour of the headquarters and an overview of the business. We were also treated to an impromptu performance from up and coming artist Kiiara. We had a few hours to enjoy the city so we hit Chelsea Market for some food and shopping and Central Park for some busking.
First full day of GRAMMYCamp and I got to meet with some of the best in the business. So crazy that I hung with the amazing Corrine Bailey Rae. Put Your Records On was one of the first songs I learned. Also met renowned photographer to the Hip-Hop World, Jonathan Mannion. My songwriting group wrote a song with some sick harmonies. #GRAMMYCamp #GRAMMYCamp2016 #GRAMMYCampNY
We had major logistical challenges, but Gabe and I were able to pull it together to record a cover video from one of our favorite artists. We should have something ready to put out in about a week. Thanks to everyone that came through. #AllenStone #JessicaChildress
Had gigs at Pennings in Warwick and Something Sweet in Middletown with Gabe Valle and Outerplay. Finally got a chance to play with Nate again in between his CJ Ramone tour. Gabe and I are pumped because we just recorded one of our favorite songs. Video coming soon. #AllenStone
Found out I was one of only 6 songwriters selected for GRAMMY Camp New York this summer. I got a chance to meet with a few otherGRAMMY Camp NY selectees at the one Day GRAMMYCamp session in Jersey City. My great friend, Preston Grzegorzewski, will be there for audio engineering, too. I can't wait to continue working with such great talent.

Participated in the Warwick Valley High School Talent show last night. I was in a number with the school a capalla group, Cat's Meow. Finally performed with my little brother, Conor also. He accompanied me on guitar in our mashup of the covers Suffer, by Charlie Puth and Screamin' Jay Hawkins, I Put a Spell on You. Also did a duet with my BFF, Megan Rice. We created a unique arrangement of the Pan!c at the Disco cover, Death of a Bachelor with some background beats by her brother Gus Dapperton. #DOABCOVER
The past few weeks have been exhausting. My school’s production of “All Shook Up” was last weekend, so the weeks of rehearsals leading up to it have kept me busy. The Hudson Valley Hot Club was also booked at the Harlem Tavern and Doma Na Rahu in the city March 5th. Of course that’s the week I got the flu. I missed days of school and rehearsals and sang 7 hours in the city with a fever and no voice. It was definitely not my best day and I hope I wasn’t judged too harshly. Now that I’m healthy and the play’s over, I am hyper-focused on making up all of my missed school work. I’m finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I had one of the best weeks of my life in LA. My GRAMMY experience was so cool, but the events leading up to it were just as exciting. Spent a day getting a backstage tour and watching rehearsals, including an hour of raw Beiber, up close and personal. I also got to see some dressing rooms. I probably spent more time in Rihanna's dressing room than she did. Oops.
They also gave us a tour of the legendary Village Studios in Santa Monica. So many albums were recorded here. The place had the greatest vibe. Special shoutout to Tyler for the inside tour.
My favorite night may have been the concert performed by GRAMMY Camp Jazz sessions. By far, the most talented group of kids I've ever heard. They literally made me cry. I'm now inspired to do much more jazz.
The GRAMMYs Awards were great. So many interesting and famous people in such a small place, but it was the music that got me. That Lionel Ritchie tribute was amazing. I can't believe how amazing Demi Lovato sounded live!!! And Kendrick Lamar's performance was fire!
Discovering that my "Hardly Breathe" producer, Dominic Fallacaro, won a GRAMMY that day also was the perfect end to a perfect week!!!
I hated leaving the warm weather and music scene, but I'm definitely motivated to work on my own music. I have to get back there!
Playing in Monroe today with Nate & Gabe (VS Entertainment). We have a really interesting set lined up. Some other great bands too. It's gonna be sick! Come hang.
